About FLYT Aviation

FLYT Aviation was founded in 2020 to provide access to modern aircraft and quality instruction. Today, with locations in Peachtree City, Athens, and Newnan, we are excited to be Georgia’s fastest growing flight school—featuring a large fleet of Cessna and Piper aircraft, equipped with G1000 avionics. We are a Cessna Pilot Center and proud training partner of the Delta Air Lines Propel Program.

Flight Instructor

The Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is key to the success of student training and safe operation of aircraft at FLYT Aviation. CFI’s conduct all training flights, renter checkouts, Flight Reviews, Instrument Proficiency Checks, and approves all pilots of FLYT Aviation aircraft for safe flight. CFI’s must maintain a professional image appropriate to FLYT Aviation as a leader of aircraft rental and flight training. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs flight instructor duties as authorized and required by the FAA and Federal Regulations, in accordance with the Company’s Training Course Outline.

  • Provide information to pilots, customers, students and employees, including making reservations as required.

  • Regularly schedule each student to ensure satisfactory progress throughout the course and immediately informs the Director of Flight Ops of any delays in training or unsatisfactory performance.Conduct scheduled inspections and completed follow-up as required.

  • Ensures that all student training records are updated continually throughout each training phase to include student training record, student logbook, and computer records.

  • Responsible for the timely course completion of all flight students assigned, including completion of required paperwork.

  • Sets an example to all other instructors in providing the highest quality instruction, testing and customer service to all students.

  • Assists in the development and improvement of the Company’s training procedures as required.

  • Immediately report any discrepancies, violations, non-compliance issues or safety concerns.

  • Attend administrative, standardization, in-service training and instructor development meetings as assigned.

  • Monitor the maintenance condition of the training aircraft, and inform maintenance of any questionable items.

  • Conduct renter checkout flights in accordance with Company requirements.

  • Conduct discovery flights for potential new students as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Airplane Single Engine Land, Instrument and Multi-Engine Instructor required (CFI, CFII & MEI).

  • Current FAA Medical Certificate.

  • Total Time 500hrs+ preferred.

  • Customer focus and naturally outgoing.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work Environment

Fast paced customer service environment – must be able to react well under pressure, making sound decisions and communicating effectively while maintaining and professional and courteous interface with students, instructors, employees and guests.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, to include but not limited to:

  • Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers and procedures.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight.
