About FLYT Aviation

FLYT Aviation was founded in 2020 to provide access to modern aircraft and quality instruction. Today, with locations in Peachtree City, Athens, and Newnan, we are excited to be Georgia’s fastest growing flight school—featuring a large fleet of Cessna and Piper aircraft, equipped with G1000 avionics. We are a Cessna Pilot Center and proud training partner of the Delta Air Lines Propel Program.

Aircraft Mechanic

Our fleet of aircraft must be properly maintained and ready to fly our busy flight schedule, and that takes a team of qualified aircraft mechanics to perform preventive maintenance inspections, repairs, and other routine maintenance. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Maintenance with routine maintenance, A.D. compliance, oil changes, and 100-hour inspections.

  • Follow established and normal aviation safety procedures and processes.

  • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records.

  • Conduct scheduled inspections and completed follow-up as required.

  • Complete repairs as reported by pilots, instructors and students, and return aircraft to service.

  • Ensures all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals to include specific chapters.

  • Maintain work area in a clean and professional manner.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate is required. At least a Private Pilot Certificate is preferred.

  • Inspection Authorization is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience working with General Aviation and Piston aircraft to include Cessna 172, Piper Archer PA-28-180, and Piper Seminole PA-44.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience performing routine maintenance.

  • Experience with basic hand-tools and demonstrate knowledge of mechanical skills.

Work Environment

Hangar available for most repairs and inspections, some repairs and work will take place at the aircraft parking area outdoors. Exposure to varying weather conditions as necessary during repairs. Office work environment for maintaining records and completing applicable paperwork. Varied working hours based on demand and flight schedule.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, to include but not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Sitting for 2 to 4 hours per day, standing for 4 to 6 hours per day.

  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, or other weather conditions as necessary.

  • Hangar work environment available for major repairs.
